About this blog

From Philippines to France.
I have never envisioned myself living in France and much more having the opportunity to be able to taste and experience the infamous gastronomic reputation of this country.
From a small unknown corner in the island of Bohol in the Philippines, I am now transported to this totally different place very much known to the rest of the globe.
Food is food and no matter where you go, the nutritional value is the same. Carbohydrates, protein and fat are the same but in different forms and sources.
But here food is more elaborate, sophisticated. Meals are no ordinary thing. There is a ritual. There is passion and thought. There is love of good things and serious gourmets. And it’s not only for appearance’s sake but also consideration of balanced and variety of a diet.
And of course the stars of the table, the unforgotten CHEESE and WINE. The “BREAD” is given which together with cheese and wine forms the trinity of the French table. And the French take pride of what they have in their wine cellar (“la cave”) and how artisanal their cheeses are, and how pure and authentic the flavors can be.
So walk with me in my amateur gastronomic journey in France… and many more…
